Have you ever noticed a spot on the ground and got the itch to clean it up. Then, after that spot is clean, you think that maybe you should just mop the whole floor? Before you know it your entire kitchen is sparkling and it all started with a little spot. I like to call this the “zone”…when you suddenly get the urge to start cleaning and it just keeps leading to more and more cleaning! It would be great to be in the mood to clean all the time - and you can! Here are some tips to keep you in the “zone”.

Start When you tell yourself you are finally going to clean that dirty spot on the kitchen floor, don’t stop! Once you get your cleaning supplies out and start cleaning one spot it is so easy to continue to clean. So just get started!

Get Inspired Whenever I get something new I can’t wait to put it to use. It’s just like when a child gets a new toy and they constantly play with it simply because it is new. I get that way with new cleaning supplies. I love to buy cleaning supplies that I haven’t used before, because I can’t wait to try them out and see if they work for me! It helps me get excited about cleaning my house.

Schedule It I like to clean my house at the same time for the same amount of time every day. When you put cleaning into your daily routine it becomes just that…routine. Making yourself an appointment to clean your house will help keep the cleaning going. You won’t keep putting it off all day if you have a set start and stop time.

Remember the Feeling Doesn’t it feel good to sit down in a clean house? Wake up to a clean house? Keeping that feeling with you and remembering it will help you keep it clean on a regular basis. I’m always in a worse mood when the house is dirty, but when it’s clean it feels more peaceful.

Make yourself a commitment every day to live in the “zone” and keep your house sparkling clean!

I am wondering if anyone can suggest a cleaning schedule that they follow everyday. I need lots of structure because my schedule stays so busy. Thanks in advance.

Your article make a lot of sense. When my house is clean and sparkles I feel so calm and serene. I'm glad I'm not the only one who loves a clean house!
