step 1Order an apron (see online sources below). Consider washing, drying and ironing the apron before crafting to avoid shrinkage.
step 2Download chili pepper stencil and print it out on a piece of white paper.
step 3Glue the stencil on top of the contact paper and set on a cutting board.
step 4Using a craft knife, cut out the stencil of the chili peppers along the dotted lines.
step 5Peel off the paper from the back of the contact paper.
step 6Position the stencil in the middle of the apron’s bib and press down firmly to avoid air pockets.
step 7Cover the stems of the peppers with masking tape.
step 8Dip the stencil brush into ruby red paint and remove excess on paper towel.
step 9Paint in the stencil by tapping the brush lightly on the apron. Use small amounts of paint and build up layers until the peppers reach the desired shade. Let dry 10 to 15 minutes.
step 10Remove the masking tape covering the stems and cover the peppers with masking tape. Dip the stencil brush into olive green and paint the stems.
step 11Remove the stencil carefully. Let dry 10 to 15 minutes.
step 12Heat-set by ironing on reverse side for 30 seconds at a temperature setting best suited to the fabric.
