Ingredients

For the jar:

1/2 cup sugar
2 1/2 cups flour
1 cup dried cranberries
1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt

To assemble the gift jar

step 1Wash and thoroughly dry a 1-quart wide-mouth canning jar.

step 2Layer the ingredients in the jar as listed above, starting with the sugar on the bottom, then flour, cranberries, ginger, baking powder, baking soda and finally salt. Press each ingredient layer firmly into place with a flat-bottomed object (like a large plastic cup) before adding the next.

step 3Secure the lid and download our recipe card that shares instructions for baking the muffins.

Variation

You can also use a thoroughly washed Mason jar, old mayonnaise or large jelly jar. Decorative or vintage jars from a specialty or antique store make a great keepsake after the muffin mix is used up. (Make sure they are food safe and thoroughly washed.)

This recipe, did not give the Plus: for the other ingredience you need to make the recipe, i.e. buttermilk, etc. Thanks

Vonnie, the recipe is on the download located to the right of the "What Do You Think" box. I've done recipes in a jar in the past and they have always been a hit. I purchased how-to book from fundraiser, but I'm sure you can find one in the local bookstore.
