Thanksgiving Wreath

Bursting with nature's bounty, this wreath is perfect to adorn a front door for Thanksgiving; it also makes a nice autumn accent for a fence or tool shed.

Materials

14"- diameter straw ring base
45 yarrow flowers, fresh or dried (about 6 bunches)
2 yards green reel (rose) wire
Wire scissors
Hot-glue gun (low temperature) & glue sticks
Pruning sheers
4 gourds, small and lightweight
35-40 autumn leaves (oak, maple, etc.)
5 dried baby artichokes

Note:

You can find most of these materials in art or floral supply stores; for the leaves, just go into the outdoors, if possible.

Instructions

step 1Cut fresh yarrow branches into pieces six inches long using pruning sheers.

step 2Using wire scissors, cut pieces of wire and wire the branches individually onto a straw ring base.

step 3Hot-glue lightweight gourds, oak leaves, and dried baby artichokes.

in the fall wreath, one could also place different kinds of nuts, after you spray them with a coat of lacquer, no animal will be a problem. Small battery lights will also add so much in the early evening hours, espically before guest arrive.
