Materials

  • Scotch broom, about 6 branches or 1 bunch (to make an 8"- diameter wreath)
  • Heavy-duty scissors
  • Hot-glue gun (low temperature) & glue sticks
  • Green reel (rose) wire, 1 yard
  • 9 pomegranates, dried
  • Pyracanthus berries, dried

Instructions

step 1Form the branches of the scotch broom into an oval, allowing the ends to trail out into space. Wire the branches together on both ends with green reel wire.
step 2Hot-glue dried pomegranates in 3 sections over the wired areas (3 pomegranates in each section).
step 3Tuck in pyrancanthus berries around pomegranates and glue down, if necessary.

This is a nice craft, but only for those of us in the Pacific Northwest who want to get rid of the millions of scotch broom growing wild everywhere taking up precious pasture space!!! Please don't plant or grow scotch broom just for the purpose of making this wreath.
