Windows

Get a clear view

If you start with windows, you’ll have a clear view of all that needs cleaning. While it’s one thing to clean your interior windows, it’s the outside glass that’s a real pain to reach safely. With the Windex® Outdoor All-in-One Glass Cleaning Tool you can reach up to 11 feet, so you can tackle tough outdoor grime and dirt on your windows, all without a ladder.

Change directions

If you wipe the inside of your windows up and down, and the outside side to side, when you see a streak you will know if it is inside or out.

Bathroom

Vacuum first

Bathroom floors have lots of tricky spots that attract stray hairs and dirt. Use your vacuum's crevice attachment to get into tight spaces. If you try to tackle those spaces when wet, they’re much harder to clean, so start with a dry clean to remove loose debris.

Banish odors

Now use a product like Disinfectant Scrubbing Bubbles® Bathroom Cleaner, which will leave your bathroom smelling great after a long winter. And to keep the bathroom smelling fresh all season, try Glade® Oils & Gels.

Kitchen

Focus on forgotten spaces

When was the last time you cleaned under the fridge? Or oven? Make it easy on yourself by simply attaching an old sock to a ruler or longer yardstick. Don’t forget the top of the oven hood, the inside of the dishwasher, and underneath your countertop appliances.

One and done

Simplify your spring cleaning by using one good multi-surface cleaner, like Windex® Disinfectant Cleaner Multi-Surface, that works on just about everything.

Living Room

De-lint lampshades

Like everything else, lampshades collect dust, and also like everything else, the dust is much easier to see with the bright spring sunlight streaming through your (just cleaned) windows. Here’s a simple way to get your lampshades clean: Use a lint roller (the type used to remove pet hair from clothes).

Look at the little picture

Spring is also the perfect time to clean the glass and frames of the artwork on your walls.

Bedroom

pile it up + move it out

Take everything out of your dresser drawers, closet and nightstand. If you haven't worn or used an item in a year, get it out of here! Those things should be donated. If you do wear an item regularly but it needs to be repaired, make a pile of things to be mended. And if anything's stained, use Shout® Set-In Stains Advanced Gel to pre-treat the stain before laundering.
