With sesame, chili and soy sauce, this delicious broccoli recipe is the perfect side dish for almost any style fish or meat entree. And since the broccoli is steamed rather than sautéed in cooking oil, you can rest assured you’re serving food that’s just as healthy as it is tasty.

Ingredients

2 tsp

sesame seeds

20 oz

broccoli

cloves fresh garlic, chopped fine

3 tsp

sesame oil

1 tbsp

chili sauce (or your favorite hot sauce)

3 tsp

light soy sauce

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

Step 2

Spread the sesame seeds in a single layer on a cookie sheet. Bake in the oven for 12 minutes until fragrant and golden brown. When done, remove from hot pan to stop cooking.

Step 3

Meanwhile, quarter the broccoli stalks lengthwise.

Step 4

In a serving bowl mix the chopped garlic, sesame oil, chili sauce, and soy sauce.

Step 5

Steam the broccoli in a vegetable steamer over water until it reaches desired tenderness. (If you like it a little crunchy, steam for about 2 minutes).

Step 6

Remove broccoli and place in serving bowl. Drizzle the sauce over it and mix thoroughly.

Step 7

Sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds.
